The "Tucson Rules" Costume Contest - Tucson 1999

"I would like to say I was
freakin' moved
to tears by the sheer numbers of people entering in the original category. You all
rock in a major way; and I'd love to see this category take off. I know that a lot
of us could put film and stage costumers to shame with some of the sh*t we come up
with."

I was also very impressed by all of the original costume entries as
well. As the leader of a cast that is not "movie perfect", I live for the
originality and creativeness from my cast in the form of original costumes and
performances. I REALLY hope this catches on. Overall the costume contest was very well
thought through and very well run. The only thing I would've done different (and this is
NOT a bitch by any means - just my opinion), I would've put the judges down in front of
the stage with the audience. It would've given the judges the same perspective, prevented
us from looking at the BACKS of the contestants while they examined the participants, and
probably would've eliminated the second walk throughs for some of the categories. But if
that was the worst they could do, I could only hope that every costume contest at every
convention in the future could go as well. And for this I've dubbed this the "Tucson
Rules" contest, and I hope that this system catches on. Giving prizes from each of
the Tucson cast members who played the respective roles was also WAY cool, and very
classy. Hoopla AJTTL! - jefF
There is no winner list here. Since many of the
participants weren't dressed during the awards phase, I'm not positive who won.

Julie, Rev - feel free to send me any scans from those books you won.

The always kick ass Columbia category.
